KWA Recent Achievements

We have made significant progress over the years in improving water access and service delivery.
While this is only a glimpse, here are some of our notable achievements.

Avater

Modernized Our Water Billing Through Smart Meter Technology

KWA has fully upgraded from traditional mechanical meters to advanced smart meters, bringing transparency, accuracy, and real-time monitoring to our members. This major technological leap has reduced disputes, improved efficiency, and positioned KWA as a modern, forward-thinking water service provider.

Avater

Growth in Our Customer Base Over Three Years

Our commitment to reliable service, improved infrastructure, and community engagement has attracted a 40% increase in new members. This steady growth reflects the trust that Kerarapon residents place in KWA as their preferred water service provider, and it strengthens our ability to continue improving services for the entire community.

Avater

Strengthened Water Security with New Boreholes

To ensure dependable water access all year round, KWA has expanded its water sources beyond the Kerarapon Spring. We have successfully drilled two high-yield boreholes, increasing supply stability, especially during dry seasons. This investment secures the community’s future and reduces over-reliance on a single source.

Avater

Significant Reduction in Non-Revenue Water

Through network upgrades, enhanced monitoring, and better maintenance practices, we have reduced non-revenue water from 38% down to 20%. This achievement means more of the water we produce reaches our members—leading to better service delivery, improved efficiency, and greater financial sustainability.

Avater

Expanded Storage Capacity with a New 300,000-Litre Tank

We have invested in an additional 300-cubic-metre (300,000-litre) storage tank to enhance our water holding capacity. This upgrade ensures more consistent distribution, reduced shortages, and improved service reliability for all KWA members.

Avater

Expanded Sustainable Water Supply Through Solar-Powered Boreholes

In our continued pursuit of water sustainability, KWA successfully drilled two additional boreholes in partnership with the Ministry of Irrigation and CRBS. These boreholes deliver yields of 25 cubic meters per hour and 7 cubic meters per hour respectively, and are fully powered by solar energy. This investment not only increases water availability but also promotes environmentally friendly and cost-effective operations.

Avater

Secured Our Water Catchment Area

To protect the integrity of our primary water source, KWA, in collaboration with FLOKA, constructed a perimeter wall around the Kerarapon Springs catchment area. This initiative safeguards the water source from contamination, encroachment, and environmental degradation, ensuring long-term water quality and sustainability.

Avater

Supporting Education Through Community Water Access

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), KWA provides 10 cubic meters of water monthly to the local primary school, with plans to increase this to 20 cubic meters. Additionally, we are supporting the secondary school with 10 cubic meters of water to enhance agriculture and facilitate the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). This initiative, supported by the completion of the new boreholes, reflects our commitment to community development and education.

Avater

Community Development Through Improved Road Infrastructure

In partnership with the CRBS and the Kerarapon community, KWA played a key role in the successful tarmacking of the local community road. This initiative has improved accessibility, boosted local development, and strengthened our relationship with the residents we serve.
